The Lagos State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested members of a drug cartel at the Murtala Muhammadu International Airport.
Femi Babafemi, NDLEA public relations officer, revealed this through his Twitter page on Sunday.
According to him, the drug cartel has its base outside Nigeria. The illicit drug traders were attempting to export methamphetamine, a usually white addictive stimulant that affects the central nervous system, when they were caught.
“@ndlea_nigeria officers again displayed their interdiction prowess that led to the arrest of two drug kingpins operating from outside Nigeria in a clinical operation that jolted the cartel following the interception of the meth consignment revealed in this video at Lagos airport,” Babafemi tweeted.
The agency had not yet released details of the arrest at press time.
